Business Development Specialist

As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting and selling Jet Freight Services transportation services to small and medium-sized businesses. You will focus on building lasting relationships with customers through excellent service, proactive communication, and a strong sales approach. This role offers the opportunity to develop a robust book of business and earn based on your performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Sales: Research potential leads, conduct cold calls, and engage decision-makers to introduce and sell our transportation services. Use innovative methods to build new business opportunities.
  • Consultative Sales Approach: Provide customers with valuable insights into service offerings, industry trends, and market conditions. Offer tailored quotes that address the customer’s needs.
  • Customer Support: Regularly communicate with customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and help meet their operational needs.
  • Continuous Development: Participate in sales training programs and ongoing learning to stay updated on industry trends and improve your knowledge of our services.
  • Performance Goals: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and productivity benchmarks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales, especially within inside sales, is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade others.
  • Excellent time management and ability to identify and act on high-value opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle challenges proactively.

Important: This position is 100% commission-based, and we’re looking for individuals who already understand the freight brokerage industry and have an established client base. Training is not provided. This is a 1099 agent contract role.
